What Log Cam: RAW 4K Video Camera does
Recording, preview and storage
Log video is easy to write off after the first clip: it looks flat and gray, and nothing explains why. This app records log video on an iPhone and shows a normal-looking picture in the viewfinder while you shoot.
With the viewfinder on Look, Rec.709 assist shows that normal-looking picture while the recording stays log. You can also import a .cube LUT to preview the graded picture, or bake the LUT into the clip, which applies it to the recording permanently.
Clips you record to the iPhone stay in the app’s own gallery. Pick an external SSD or hard drive connected to the phone as the recording destination, and new clips save straight to it and appear in the gallery too. Export a copy to a drive or the Files app whenever you need one.
Recording controls
The app records seven log profiles to ProRes or 10-bit HEVC. A histogram, zebras, and false color help check exposure. You can set ISO, shutter, and white balance manually, and use autofocus or tap to focus.

There is another iPhone app called Log Cam: Open Gate by RAW Cam, made by Sebastijan Grabar, who also makes RAW Cam: Open Gate DNG Video. Log Cam: RAW 4K Video Camera is a separate, independently developed app.
Log Cam: RAW 4K Video Camera has a gallery for clips on the iPhone and the connected drive you select. You can review them there and export a copy when you need one.

What ProRes and HEVC recording options does the app offer?
The app records ProRes 422 HQ, ProRes 422 and ProRes 422 LT. It also records 10-bit HEVC in 4:4:4 or 4:2:0, with bitrate presets from 30 to 500 Mbps.
Does it have autofocus, or do I have to focus everything manually?
The app has autofocus and tap to focus. It also has manual ISO, shutter and white balance, for when you do not want the camera to decide. You can pick which of your phone’s lenses records. You can adjust focus, ISO and shutter while you record.
